BCCI Prevents India from Travelling to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to permit the Indian cricket team to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. Instead, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will organize the tournament using a hybrid model. This implies that India might have their matches in the UAE or Sri Lanka, akin to the previous year's Asia Cup.
ICC to Host Champions Trophy in Hybrid Format
Reports from Sports Tak have indicated that it is highly improbable for the Indian team to take part in Pakistan. Despite Pakistan presenting a tentative schedule with all of India's matches scheduled in Lahore, there is no official confirmation from BCCI. The final call will be made by the Indian government, with a hybrid model being contemplated.
Rohit Sharma Appointed as India's Captain
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has disclosed that Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian cricket team in the upcoming World Test Championship Final and the 2025 Champions Trophy. Shah has expressed optimism in the team's prospects under Rohit's captaincy, following their recent victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
