The "tallest" Shiva statue in the world was unveiled in Rajsamand, Rajasthan.

In Rajasthan's Nathdwara town stands the 369-foot-tall Viswas Swaroopam monument of Shiva. In the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, and others, it is acclaimed as the highest Shiva statue in the world and officially opened to the public.

The statue was constructed by Tat Padam Sansthan and is roughly 45 kilometres from Udaipur.

Following the devotion of the statue, Sansthan trustee and chairman of the Miraj group Madan Paliwal announced that a number of spiritual, religious, and cultural events would take place for nine days, from October 29 to November 6, along with the recitation of Ram Katha by religious preacher Morari Bapu.

In reference to the statue, Paliwal claimed that the state's religious tourism will take on a new dimension owing to this magnificent statue of Lord Shiva.

The statue, which is in a meditation position and has been put on a mountaintop over a region of 51 bighas, is believed to be visible from 20 kilometres away. According to Jaiprakash Mali, who served as the program's spokeswoman, the statue is well visible at night since it is adorned with special lighting.

There are elevators, staircases, and a hall for worshippers. Its construction, which took almost ten years to complete, required three thousand tonnes of steel and iron, 2.5 lakh cubic metres of sand, and three thousand tonnes of concrete. In August 2012, the project's foundation was established.

The statue is said to have been constructed to survive 250 years and to withstand winds of up to 250 kmph. 10,000 people can enter the statue's built-in hall at a moment, which adds to its grandeur.

The world's five tallest Shiva statues are located in Rajasthan at Vishwas Swaroopam (369 feet), Nepal's Kailashnath Mahadev Temple (143 metres), Karnataka's Marudeshwara Temple (123 metres), Tamil Nadu's Adiyoga Temple (112 metres), and Mauritius' Mangal Mahadev (108 meters).
