She gained notoriety for her roles in TRP-producing and India's longest-running TV programmes, "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" and "Sasural Simar Ka." Thakkar was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in her room with a piece of cloth by the police after being informed by the neighbourhood inhabitants of Saibag Colony, where she lived. The commissioner further stated that there is currently no suspect in the case. To locate any hints or connections to her death, the police have however taken the 29-year-old actress's personal items from her home. Thakkar's private journal, which makes multiple allusions, is among the materials gathered by the police for the investigation. In her private journal, the actress also wrote of her depression in Indore. The actress's family members have not yet provided statements to the police regarding the incident. In the meantime, Thakkar's friends, actor Vikas Sethi and his wife Jhanvi Rana informed that they had spoken to her on Saturday. The actress had intended to travel to Mumbai for her wedding shopping. She was scheduled to wed a California-based software engineer in December. Thakkar was a resident of the Ujjain district's Mahidpur town. She had spent the last three years residing in Indore.
