To claim a refund, depositors must first register on the Sahara refund portal. During the application process, they need to ensure that their Aadhaar is linked to their mobile numbers and bank accounts. Additionally, they must provide receipt details.

Here's a step-by-step guide to the refund application process:

Click here to go to Sahara Refund Portal login page and follow the below steps:

1. Enter your 12-digit Membership Number, the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Number, your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number, and the Captcha on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal.

2. Click on 'Get OTP' and enter the OTP generated. After logging in, provide consent as prompted by Aadhaar.

3. On the next page, accept the terms and conditions by clicking ‘I agree.’ Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number and click ‘Get OTP.’ Verify the OTP, and your Aadhaar user details will be displayed.

4. Enter the details displayed on the Certificate of Deposit. Click on ‘Submit Claim’ to view all the details. A pre-filled claim request form will be generated after entering all the necessary claim details.

5. Eligible depositors of the following four Sahara Group societies can apply for a refund on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal: Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd, Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.

6. After filling in the claim form and affixing a recent photograph, depositors must sign the form and upload it, along with a copy of their PAN card, on the 'Upload Document' screen. Once the process is complete, they should note down the claim request number.

Depositors can expect to receive the refund within 45 days from the date of application, as assured by Amit Shah. The portal is expected to benefit around one crore depositors, including 1.78 crore small investors who have up to ₹30,000 stuck, enabling them to recover their money.

Depositors who have deposited ₹10,000 or more will receive the first payment of up to ₹10,000, and the refund will be initiated for one crore investors. This move aims to provide relief to the depositors and expedite the refund process in a fair and transparent manner.
