G20 Summit: Delhi Offices, Schools, Shops, Banks To Be Shut From Sept 8-10 For G20 Meet

Due to the upcoming G20 Summit happening on September 9 and 10 at Delhi's new Bharat Mandapam convention center in Pragati Maidan, some important changes are being made. The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, said that all government offices, schools, and even private offices will be closed from September 8 to September 10. Banks, shops, and financial institutions will also remain closed during these days. This decision was suggested by a senior officer from the Delhi Police to help manage the expected traffic and other challenges.

The reason for this decision is that many important people are coming to Delhi on September 8, and they will leave between September 10 and 11. This means there will be a lot of traffic on the roads, and it's important to make sure that these important visitors can travel safely from the airport to their hotels and the places where the summit is happening.

Some well-known leaders like US President Joe Biden, China's Premier Xi Jinping, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and France's President Emmanuel Macron are expected to attend this summit. The Delhi Police are working hard to make sure that everything goes smoothly during the event. They recently did a practice run to see how traffic can be managed better.

The G20 Summit will bring together leaders from different countries to talk about things like the economy and how countries can work together. The police and the government need to work together to make sure this event goes well. The Delhi Police are also getting special training to handle different situations, and they're also focusing on being friendly and helpful to people.

Also, a special group of female commandos from the Delhi Police got special training from another group called the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. They learned important skills to keep everyone safe. The Delhi Police have also gotten new equipment like special guns, bulletproof jackets, and machines to check things like bags and packages.

As everyone's attention turns towards Delhi for the G20 Summit, these careful plans and extra security measures show how important it is to work together to make sure everything happens smoothly and safely.
