India defeated Sri Lanka in the championship match of the 2022 Women's Asia Cup by 8 wickets.

The Women's Asia Cup 2022 was held in Bangladesh, and the Indian Women's Cricket Team defeated the Sri Lankan Women's Cricket Team to win.



The toss winner, Chamari Athapaththu of Sri Lanka, was ecstatic, but that was the last time she beamed. The skipper left after the third over, and Sri Lanka entered a state of self-destruction, losing wickets carelessly. The lowest-ever score for batting first in the Women's Asia Cup's history was 65 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.

Gayakwad and Sneh Rana each took two wickets, while Renuka Singh took three for just five runs. India's reaction saw them fall down by two runs in the fifth over, but Smriti Mandhana's unbeaten 51 helped them win the chase in just 8.3 overs.

At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh, on Saturday, India destroyed Sri Lanka in the Women's Asia Cup final, defeating them by eight wickets to win the trophy for the record-tying seventh time in the competition's eighth edition. The only season they didn't win was in 2018, but after a convincing title victory in which they had only dropped one game all year, the ghosts of Kuala Lampur had been put to rest.

In spite of losing two wickets, the Indian team's victory was all but certain when it restricted Sri Lanka to a modest score thanks to Mandhana's performance.

After winning the eighth edition of the tournament and claiming their seventh Asia Cup championship, well-wishes began to come in for the Indian women.

Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, two of India's greatest cricketers, left the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team precious notes just after they won the Women's Asia Cup.

In the final, Renuka Singh was named Player of the Match and got a cash prize of $1000 (about Rs. 82,000), while Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament and won $2000. (Rs 1,64,000 approx). With eight matches remaining, Sharma finished the tournament with 13 wickets.

The Sri Lankan men's team received more money as a prize for winning the Men's Asia Cup last month than the Women's Asia Cup champions did. Approximately Rs 1,59,53,000 went to Sri Lanka, and Rs 79,66,000 went to Pakistan.

Male cricketers receive substantially greater annual salaries from the BCCI than female cricketers. The female cricketers were awarded Rs 50 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh under categories A, B, and C, respectively, for 2021–2022. On the other side, the male cricketers have been awarded Rs. 7 crore under category A+, Rs. 5 crores under category A, Rs. 3 crores under category B, and Rs. 1 crore under category C. For those who are unaware, the players are categorised based on their performance.
