Garg added that the school bus was going from Kullu to Sainj on Neoli-Shansher road in Sainj valley and stated that the death toll may rise. At least 40 students were on the bus when the accident took place, the officials said. Rescue operations are underway at the site.

" He also announced an ex gratia sum of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the kin of the deceased.
President Ram Nath Kovind and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were among the others who expressed their condolences on social media.
