Uttarakhand Foundation Day 2022

Every November 9, Uttarakhand Foundation Day is observed, Often referred to as Utrakhand Divas

On November 9, Uttarakhand Foundation Day is observed. It is also known as Uttrakhand Divas and is observed to mark the founding of India's 27th state. After India gained its freedom, Uttarakhand did not yet exist. It is one of the more recent states, having been established in 2000 as a result of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The natural resources in the state of Uttarakhand are quite abundant and include glaciers, rivers, thick forests, and snow-covered Himalayan peaks. The Char Dham of Uttarakhand, or the four most respected and holy Hindu temples, are also situated there. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath Dehradun serve as the state capital, while Gairsain serves as the winter capital.

In the 1990s, a broad movement for statehood swept the area, inspiring the formation of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal with the goal of gaining statehood. It persisted for many years. The state of Uttarakhand was subsequently created, at first under the name of Uttaranchal. On August 28, 2000, the measure was passed by the president at the time, K. R. Narayanan, and it eventually became law. Uttaranchal was finally called Uttarakhand on January 1st, 2007.

The Sanskrit term for "Northern City," from which the name Uttarakhand is derived, is used to describe this region. Its name was changed to Uttarakhand on January 1st, 2007. One of the most popular tourist locations in India is the state, which is a fusion of culture, race, and religion. Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tibet, and Nepal are some of the bordering states of Uttarakhand.

The Valley of Flowers and Nanda Devi National Park are two UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are located in Uttarakhand. The world's centre of yoga is at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Many well-known centres for meditation and yoga can be found here, and they are frequently filled with visitors and yoga practitioners from all over the world.

Uttarakhand is the source of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, two of India's most treasured waterways. While the River Ganga starts in Gangotri, the River Yamuna does so in the Himalayas at Yamunotri.
