Uttarkashi's Anshul Jubli is three steps away from UFC contract after dominating the Indian MMA.

Anshul Jubli exudes confidence as he approaches the three victories needed to secure a UFC contract, the ultimate goal of every MMA hopeful.

Anshul Jubli, an MMA fighter from Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, who is 27 years old, is just two steps away from signing a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The UFC is without a doubt the biggest MMA promotion in the entire globe. The US-based promotion reportedly brought in more than $1 billion in revenue in 2021.

In the semi-finals, scheduled for some time in October 2022, Anshul will face South Korean contender Kim Kyung Pyo after receiving a bye in his lightweight (weight limit of 155 pounds, 70 kg) quarterfinal battle against Japan's Patrick Sho Usmani, who couldn't meet the weight limit.

Despite having only four years of formal training in the many combat disciplines of MMA, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), wrestling, grappling, boxing, kickboxing, etc., Anshul, popularly known as "King of Lions," is now the hottest MMA prospect to come out of India.

Anshul, a resident of the village of Bhatwari in the vicinity of Uttarkashi, is the son of a former Border Security Force (BSF) officer. He has memories of growing up in many locations across the nation as a result of his father's postings. His family relocated frequently before settling in Dehradun. His friend's older brother originally introduced him to MMA and the UFC back in 2015.

"I have a strong sense of patriotism. I first believed that the greatest way for me to serve my nation was by enlisting in the military. I was unable to pass the SSB (Services Selection Board) interview despite completing the CDS (Combined Defence Services) exam. I originally only intended to pick up some combat sports so I could add some credentials to my application to join the military." as Anshul said "But it was a conversation with an army colonel in Dehradun that transformed my outlook on things."

In 2017, they talked about his daily agenda during a conversation. His day started with him going to a boxing gym in the morning, followed by studying for his CDS and SSB examinations after lunch. He then went to a friend's house in the evening to watch YouTube videos of renowned MMA coaches Firas Zahabi and John Danaher.

Before going to bed at night, I would research various MMA specialties online. The colonel carefully listened and then inquired about my desire to join the military. Combat sports, though, were my true calling. He remembers thinking, "MMA could provide me the platform on which I could serve my country."

He was also teaching math to help support himself while participating in amateur fights during all of this. In Dehradun, where most people spend their time taking "awesome films," he joined a fitness center/boxing facility only 15 days before his first amateur fight.

He repeatedly tapped out but promised to get better at it. A few days after that terrible encounter, he met Coach Siddharth Singh, the person who would transform his life. The creator of CFC, Siddharth, is a 14 Khan Grading, Silver Mongkol "Master" in Muay Thai, and the first Brown Belt (the next rank down from a Black Belt) in BJJ in India (Thai Kickboxing).
