Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum

Delhi, India - In a groundbreaking announcement, Delhi is set to house the world's largest museum, the 'Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum,' spanning a massive 1.17 lakh sqm area across the North and South blocks in the heart of the capital city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a virtual walkthrough of the museum on International Museum Day, providing visitors with an immersive experience into India's rich civilizational culture.

The museum's unique feature lies in its eight thematic segments, each offering a captivating narrative of India's history over the past 5,000 years. Spanning ancient Indian knowledge, medieval eras, colonial rule, the freedom struggle, and post-independence developments, the museum promises to be a 'forward-looking institution' portraying India's remarkable journey.

The virtual walkthrough on May 18 allowed visitors to explore digital exhibits and galleries, providing insights into ancient town planning systems, the Vedas, Upanishads, ancient medical knowledge, and significant historical empires like the Mauryan, Gupta, Vijayanagara, and Mughal Empires.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Modi also unveiled the 'Bharat Mandapam,' formerly the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex, sprawled across an extensive campus area of about 123 acres and developed at a cost of approximately Rs 2,700 crore.

To accommodate the vast collection of artifacts, the existing National Museum located on Janpath will undergo a transformation as it relocates its exhibits to the buildings of the North and South Blocks. This move will enable the iconic National Museum building to become an integral part of the Kartavya Path, historically known as Rajpath, a ceremonial axis stretching from India Gate to Raisina Hill.

The 'Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum' promises to be a monumental addition to Delhi's cultural landscape, celebrating India's heritage, and offering a glimpse into the nation's aspirations for the future. With its awe-inspiring design and comprehensive portrayal of India's history, the museum is destined to become a global landmark and a beacon of India's cultural richness.
