Elections in Gujarat: In the previous assembly elections, Jadeja defeated candidates of both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. This was possible because the NCP had not yet formed an alliance with the Congress at the time of the election.
After having his ticket rejected, the lone MLA for the Nationalist Congress Party in Gujarat, Kandhal Jadeja, tendered his resignation.
Kandhal Jadeja, the only Member of Legislative Assembly for the Nationalist Congress Party in Gujarat, has resigned from the party after being denied a ticket to run in the Gujarat Assembly elections. Kandhal Jadeja was the only Member of Legislative Assembly for the Nationalist Congress Party in Gujarat.
As reported by the PTI, Jadeja submitted his resignation as a key member of the party on Monday due to the fact that the NCP refused to issue him with a ticket in Kutiyana as a consequence of its electoral cooperation with the Congress. Jadeja was running for office in Kutiyana.
Even though he had already won from the same seat in Porbander district in both 2012 and 2017, Jadeja went ahead and submitted his candidacy on November 11, without waiting for a formal approval from his party. This was the case despite the fact that he had served as a winner from that seat in both 2012 and 2017.
Jadeja was victorious in the most recent assembly elections in spite of opposition from candidates supported by both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress party. This was possible due to the fact that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had not yet formed an alliance with the Congress party at the time of those elections.
In a letter that was sent to the leader of the Gujarat NCP, Jayant Patel, who is also known as Jayant Boskey, Jadeja said that he is resigning from all of the party posts that he now has as well as his primary membership since he was not awarded the ticket for this election.
Both the Nationalist Congress Party and the Gujarat Congress came together to establish a pre-election alliance on November 11. Sharad Pawar will serve as the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, which will be a member of an alliance that will fight for three seats. Umreth in the Anand district, Naroda in the Ahmedabad district, and Devgadh Baria in the Dahod district are the three seats in question here.
On the same day, November 11, Jadeja sent in the necessary papers to put himself up for election to the council seat for Kutiyana. He said that Praful Patel, the national vice president of the NCP, had given him permission to carry out these actions in the way that he had described.
In addition to this, he was convinced that after the event, the party's mandate would be granted to him. He was assured about this.
Despite the fact that Kutiyana was not a part of the coalition, the Congress eventually announced that they would be nominating Natha Odedara to compete for the seat of Kutiyana. Odedara was given this nomination in the announcement of the seat agreements.
Due to the fact that Monday was the last day candidates could submit their nominations for the first round of state elections that will be held on December 1, numerous rumours are spreading that Jadeja may now compete in the race as an independent or submit the mandate of another party. On the first of December, these elections will take place.
Two separate rounds of voting will take place on December 1 and December 5 for members of the Gujarat Assembly, which has a total of 182 seats available. The election will be broken up into two phases: the first will include voting for 89 seats, including Kutiyana; the second will take place on December 5 and will include voting for the remaining 93 seats. In the first round of the voting process, Kutiyana will be included.
