Ireland eliminated two-time champions West Indies to proceed to the T20 World Cup Super 12 round.

By defeating the West Indies by nine wickets in Hobart in 2022, Ireland knocked out the two-time T20 World Cup champions.

The eighth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup is currently taking place. The CC Men's T20 World Cup tournament began to play on October 16 and is being held in Australia. Australia will host the performance from October 16 to November 13, 2022. The competition was initially scheduled to take place in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC), forced the postponement of the event in July 2020. The T20 World Cup was originally scheduled to take place in India in 2021 but was then relocated to the UAE and Oman. The International Cricket Council (ICC) also announced in August 2020 that Australia would host the rescheduled tournament in 2022. All of the tournament's schedules were confirmed by the ICC on January 21, 2022. Australia, the host nation, is also the reigning champion.

The West Indies, the only team to win the T20 World Cup twice, was eliminated from the current competition after falling short against Ireland in their final Group B qualification match in Hobart on Friday by a score of 9 wickets. The West Indies made a disastrous start against Scotland, losing by 42 runs, but they bounced back to easily defeat Zimbabwe.

With one win and one loss, each of the four teams in the group, which also includes Scotland and Zimbabwe, entered into a life-or-death position. Ireland, which had previously lost to Zimbabwe before coming from behind to win, put on a masterful display against the formidable Windies with both bat and ball to advance to the Super 12 round.

Ireland's opening pair of Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie got them off to a fantastic start as they chased a target of 147. Neither hitter displayed any signs of nervousness as they both entered the game with the intention of taking advantage of the powerplay.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hossein of the West Indies, who typically bowls tight overs during the powerplay, was dealt with harshly by Stirling and Balbirnie. They too received the same punishment as Nicholas Pooran turned to pace.

"For us, it was an extraordinary day." The way we crossed the finish line was wonderful. Knowing they would come hard, Nathan Hauritz devised the basic but effective strategy of being defensive. For me, it's the fulfilment of a dream. I'm thrilled. We had a chance thanks to Campher's knock the other day, and we're done now. " Delany, who was named Player of the Match, expressed his excitement for the upcoming weeks.
